This 4,400 SF house is consciously reminiscent of a New England rural vernacular. Set in rolling countryside and sharing its site with an existing barn, the building is intended to be a contemporary statement, yet compatible with the generally conservative neighboring homes.

Views, though good in all directions, focus to the south, and suggest the almost diagonal orientation of the major living spaces of the house. A detached screened pavilion with a deck above allows an open view of gardens and the surrounding landscape.
